Still very good, but inflation has hit. Oysters $1.50 and the drink and other food offerings have changed, but still a solid choice. Somehow we managed to spend $100 for 2 of us at happy hour, but it was delicious.

I've come into Prime & Provisions a few times and have never been disappointed. It's a great spot for a work lunch with a mostly professional crowd and fantastic service. Everything on the menu is great from the appetizers through the desserts. Getting the bacon as an appetizer is cool too because they light it on fire at the table which is a fun spectacle. Overall, I always leave happy and full and the price is very fair for what you receive.

10, 10, 10's. How have I missed this restaurant in my peripheral for so long. What a dining experience. Posh and well worth every dollar.

My companion and I were in Chicago on some business and a colleague suggested prime and provisions. It is a traditional Chicago steakhouse with an educated and attentive staff. The restaurant was a little loud, but we did get there at prime time. We arrived for our reservation and had a slight wait as the party at our table decided to have an extra round of drinks. Can't blame them for that. My companion enjoyed the French onion soup while the table shared the thick cut bacon and some of the chef's daily delights. The daily delights are essentially the chefs choice and change routinely. The price may scare some, but it was definitely worth spending a bit for that. The drinks were classics and well balanced. The waiter guided our party to the proper wine, which was free flowing and very good. I ordered the roasted scallops as my main and was not disappointed. Three large scallops, perfectly roasted and seasoned. The sides are served family style, and we ordered the roasted brussels sprouts, chard, sweetcorn, macaroni and cheese, and broccoli. The sweet corn was wonderful. The brussels sprouts came with chunks of the bacon and the broccoli was well charred. Despite all protestations, we did finish with a nice bite of the carrot cake. It was a perfect finish to a wonderful meal.

Life is grand if you're willing to spend the $100 pp+ price tag. This plan B turned out to best one of the best dining experience I've had in downtown Chicago in quite some time. Add to that, reservations weren't made. I attribute it to the service and presentation of several items ordered. Smoking s'mores 5/5 A ball of decadent milk chocolate melts after butterscotch/caramel is poured on top, revealing toasted marshmallows, vanilla ice cream and graham cracker crumbles. If offered just the amount of crunch and was perfect for sharing. Whipped potatoes 5/5 Some of the absolute best whipped potatoes known to man. Caviar potato skin 5/5 If you want to try caviar without breaking the bank, this is it. Lump crab Ceasar salad 4/5 Service separates a great meal from a truly memorable experience, especially at this price point. Kristina and Ricky exceeded all expectations. Their engagement, attentiveness, and genuine care transformed our impromptu dinner into an unforgettable evening. P & P should be proud to have such a remarkable team members. That said, the hostess was dry and anything but welcoming which is what you'd expect when entering. We were told there was no room in the dining room but when I checked OpenTable, it showed availability. However, we waited for a table to clear out in the bar area. Add to that, a couple entered with reservations while we waited and were seated in the bar immediately because the gentleman's attire didn't meet the dress code. The fact that they were seated ahead of us and we weren't offered the option to dine in the dining room in their place was rather surprising.

Visited this steakhouse in the loop on a Friday night with my husband. We purposely book this because they are participating in restaurant week 2024. This allows us to try a few different things on the menu at a relatively economical price. The ambience is really sexy here. lots of burning candles and chandeliers and surprisingly there was a hint of cigar smell. I am aware they do have a cigar part of the steakhouse but I wouldn't think you would actually be able to smell it. I like the smell so it wasn't offensive and it wasn't like it was burnt cigars. For restaurant week you are able to get an appetizer, entree and dessert. We opted for the French onion soup and lump crab cake. Both really good options. I was very impressed with the lump crab cake and would get this option again. Our dinner selections was to get the petite filet migon steak. We added for sides the macaroni and cheese and the brussel sprouts. The steak was the star of the meal and we were very happy with its preparation and flavor. Other good items was the bread service and the desserts. Overall a very nice dining experience. I would come back to the steakhouse.
